The slideshow shows a rough drawing of my original idea that then turned into a poster based on the idea of “Love at first bite”. I then took this forward to create the final short video and animation for social media under the campaign title of #ValentinezMeanzHeinz. Using the hand-held device, you’ll be able to locate and amplify fragments of sound from as far back as 1907. From a marriage in Mumbai, to bird calls in The Blue Mountains, explore echoes of worlds which may no longer even exist. &nbsp; &nbsp; My role in this collaborative project was the design and creation of the “prop” that housed the app. The brief was set by ex Falmouth graduate Emily Sorrell, and working with two fellow peers, we presented our proposal and won the brief, consequently displaying our work at three exhibitions, including the final experience at the Watershed in Bristol. Simply the presence of his voice will remind people of what he represents and what truly matters - our planet; but users are also given opportunities through Amazon to donate to the World Land Trust, making an even bigger difference. Dis-Location aims to make the audience feel lost and dislocated from what they are viewing.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; To truly emulate the feeling of being lost, the creator should too feel lost during the process; therefore all of the content was collected with minimal control.&nbsp; &nbsp; Using mapcrunch.com, locations were randomly selected that would provide the letterforms for the typeface and the images that would be paired with quotes. The quotes were simply overheard lines of conversations between strangers, recorded completely out of context.&nbsp; &nbsp; The project also references our current society; with advances in technology, humans have never been so connected with each other and with google street view we can visit anywhere in the world with one click. Yet there’s an absence of intimacy and presence; the connection is with screen rather than people. Through the inclusion of books and video, Discothéque provides them with knowledge of disco as a culture and movement.&nbsp; &nbsp; Included in the mobile disco library, there are individual outcomes including two videos, showcasing two sides of disco - ‘The Funk’ and ‘The Fight’. Additionally there is the ‘Disco Directory’, a print booklet given to users to allow their exploration and education of disco to continue beyond the installation.
